Welcome to the final episode of this mini-series!

In this episode, we explore energetic boundaries and intuitive sensitivity with returning guest Damon Azali-Rojas. Damon is a trained community organizer, coach trainer and professional coach, as well as an instructor for the InnerLight Method. This method helps intuitive, empathic and highly sensitive children and adults navigate everyday life with greater ease and stability.

Damon first came to the InnerLight Method while seeking support for his son, who was experiencing unexplained bloating and weight gain. Through this method, he learned that his son’s symptoms were linked to nervous system overload. As a sensitive child (and one with special needs), his son’s system was taking in more stimulation than he had the capacity to process and regulate. His body responded to this energetic imbalance physically.

We are constantly receiving information through our senses, which is then processed by the nervous system. When the volume of input becomes too high, the nervous system can become overloaded, which we may experience as mood shifts, anxiety, fatigue, digestive issues or other physical symptoms.

If you are intuitive, your nervous system may be more susceptible to overload. This is because intuitive individuals often experience one or more senses in an amplified way, resulting in a higher volume of sensory input for the nervous system to process. To better manage your energy, it can be helpful to recognize your sensitivity and identify your primary intuitive channel. There are six main pathways: visual, auditory, mental, kinesthetic, gustatory, and olfactory.

One key skill in regulating this input is the ability to set energetic boundaries, which influence how much sensory and emotional information is absorbed into one’s system. Damon shares a practical tool for this process called the “three doors” exercise, also referenced on page 113 of Dr. Niki Elliott’s book.

In Damon’s own work, setting energetic boundaries has been transformative, allowing him to work in a more sustainable way. He facilitates group trainings through Coaching for Transformation and in prison settings through Coaching for Healing and Nonviolence. By learning to establish clear energetic boundaries, he has been able to remain present and connected without absorbing the emotional weight of others, reducing burnout and the need for extended recovery time after sessions.

If your sensitivity feels like a source of stress, anxiety or exhaustion, this conversation invites you to take greater ownership of your energetic space — especially if you work in helping professions or challenging environments. Tools like the InnerLight Method can also support greater balance and regulation.

Learning to manage your energy field is an act of agency and strength. For those who are intuitive, empathic or highly sensitive, this skill is essential for sustainability and well-being.

If you’re ready to step more fully into your energetic awareness and care for your sensitivity in an enhanced way, this episode is for you.
